Will a lithium conversion kit fit my golf cart?
Our conversion kits are listed by cart make, model and year, and by battery tray where it matters (for example, the EZGO RXV comes with a plastic or a metal tray). Find your cart in the Fitment Guide, or send us your cart’s make, model, year and serial number and we will confirm the right kit before you order.
What comes in a Bedrock lithium conversion kit?
Each Bedrock kit includes the lithium battery, a waterproof 15A lithium charger (with self-tapping mounting screws), an AC charger port plug with a cart-specific or universal adaptor, a round state-of-charge meter with a 115 in. cable, a cart-specific or standard bracket, and cart-specific or generic ring terminals and install bolts.
Do I need a 12V converter?
Bedrock lists a 12V converter as required for most lithium conversions, and it is not included in the kit. It powers 12V accessories such as lights, radios and USB ports. Add the Bedrock 12V converter for 36V carts (BB-CVT-0936) or 48V/72V carts (BB-CVT-0948) unless your cart already has one.
Can I keep using my lead-acid charger?
No. Lithium batteries need a charger made for lithium. Allied warns that lead-acid chargers can damage its batteries. Every Bedrock conversion kit and Allied Commercial package includes a matching lithium charger.
How do I know what voltage my cart is?
Count the batteries and read the voltage printed on each one, then multiply. Six 6V batteries make a 36V cart. Eight 6V, six 8V or four 12V batteries make a 48V cart. Many carts also have the system voltage on a decal or on the charger.
Do you sell regular lead-acid golf cart batteries?
Yes. Along with lithium, we sell deep-cycle lead-acid golf cart batteries in 6V, 8V and 12V, in flooded and sealed AGM versions. Shop lead-acid golf cart batteries, or contact us for a quote on a full replacement set.
How do I order the right lead-acid replacement set?
Count the batteries in your cart and note what is printed on the labels: the voltage (6V, 8V or 12V), the group size (such as GC2, GC8 or GC12) and the terminal type. Order the same number of batteries with the same voltage, group size and terminal type, and replace the whole set at once so the batteries age evenly. Our complete battery sets bundle a whole cart’s worth (6 or 8 x 6V, 6 x 8V or 4 x 12V). If the labels are worn, send us a photo.
What do the terminal codes S, UT and UTL mean?
They describe the battery posts your cables bolt to. Using Interstate’s terminal key: S is an auto post with a horizontal hole, UT is a threaded stud over an auto post, UTL is a threaded stud over a low-profile auto post, and M is a marine terminal. Many Interstate golf cart batteries come in more than one terminal style at the same price, so you choose the terminal on the product page. Match the terminals on your current batteries so your cables fit. If you aren’t sure, send us a photo of the battery tops and we’ll tell you which one you have.
Should I choose lithium or lead-acid?
Lead-acid costs less upfront and keeps your cart’s existing charger and setup. Lithium costs more upfront but is much lighter, needs no watering and is rated for far more charge cycles (Bedrock rates its LiFePO4 batteries for up to 6,000). Our lead-acid vs lithium guide compares weight, maintenance, range and cost.
Is there a core charge on lead-acid batteries?
Yes. Each flooded or AGM lead-acid battery adds an core charge at checkout. A set adds for every battery in the set. Lithium batteries, chargers, and parts do not. The core charge is refunded when we receive the old lead-acid battery.
How far will I go on a charge?
Bedrock publishes range estimates for each of its batteries. For example, it rates the 48V 105Ah at 30-45 miles in a 2-seat cart and 20-35 miles in a 4-seat cart, and the 48V 150Ah at 50-70 miles (2-seat). Real range depends on terrain, load, speed, tires and lift kits. Each Bedrock product page lists its estimates.
What is the difference between the Bedrock 48V 105Ah Compact and Slim?
Both have the same capacity (5.38 kWh) but come in different shapes so they fit different battery compartments. The Compact measures about 12.24 x 11.3 x 14.76 in. and the Slim about 9.76 x 10.89 x 22.01 in. (W x H x L). Each kit lists the carts it is built for.
Can I monitor the battery from my phone?
On many lithium batteries, yes. Bedrock and Allied batteries have Bluetooth monitoring through their apps, as do many EPOCH and Ionic models; the product page says whether a battery has it. Bedrock kits also include a dash state-of-charge meter. Allied Commercial packages can add the Allied Comm Port SOC meter.
Do you sell heated batteries for cold weather?
Bedrock offers heated versions of its batteries for charging in the cold. Contact us for pricing and lead time on a heated kit.
What is an Allied Drop-in-Ready battery?
Allied Drop-in-Ready (DIR) batteries are single batteries that connect in parallel, so you can add batteries for more range. Allied requires its 500A battery disconnect switch with DIR batteries; installing without it voids Allied’s warranty. Allied includes the switch with orders of 2 or more DIR batteries.
Do you ship batteries, or deliver them locally?
Both. Every battery we sell, lithium or lead-acid, can be shipped to you or delivered locally. Tell us which you prefer when you order, or ask us. Local delivery area: [ROD TO CONFIRM: local delivery area]. Local delivery fee: [ROD TO CONFIRM: local delivery fee].
How much is shipping?
Bedrock conversion kits ship free, and Allied Lithium packages ship free from Allied. Free shipping on other brands’ kits: [ROD TO CONFIRM: which other brands ship free]. Shipping on individual batteries, chargers and parts: [ROD TO CONFIRM: parts shipping rates]. Every battery, lithium or lead-acid, can also be delivered locally instead of shipped.
What warranty do I get?
Bedrock conversion kits carry a 10-year transferable Bedrock warranty. Allied Lithium products are covered by Allied’s manufacturer warranty. Interstate batteries carry Interstate’s free-replacement warranty: 6 or 12 months on lead-acid models, depending on the model, and 60 months on the LIGC48V100 lithium battery. Every other brand’s warranty (ECO, BOLT, EPOCH, Dakota, Antigravity, Ionic and more) is listed on each product page and summarized on its brand page. See our Warranty page for details.
Can I return a battery?
Unused chargers, parts, and unopened batteries can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Once a battery is installed, watered, or charged, the sale is final except for damage, a wrong item, or a warranty claim. See the refund and returns policy.
Do you offer installation?
[ROD TO CONFIRM: installation offered? where?] Bedrock kits include cart-specific brackets and hardware for DIY installs, and we are happy to answer fitment questions before you order.
Which battery brands do you carry?
Lithium golf cart batteries and kits from Bedrock Battery, Allied Lithium, ECO Battery, BOLT Energy, EPOCH Batteries, Dakota Lithium, Vatrer, MODZ, Lithium Rhino, BigBattery and Trojan; lead-acid golf cart batteries from Interstate; and powersports, mower, marine and RV lithium batteries from Antigravity, Dakota Lithium, Ionic and EPOCH. See all battery brands.
Which lithium kit has the longest warranty?
Among the listings we carry, BOLT Energy and BigBattery state 12 years, EPOCH and many Dakota and Ionic models 11 years, Bedrock (transferable), Trojan and Vatrer 10 years, and Lithium Rhino 8 years. ECO Battery’s listings state a limited lifetime warranty. Terms differ by brand, so check the product page and the brand page before you buy.
What do 38.4V, 51.2V and 73.6V mean on a lithium battery?
They are nominal voltages of lithium iron phosphate packs (3.2V per cell). 38.4V replaces a 36V lead-acid pack, 51.2V replaces 48V and 73.6V is the 72V class. See 36V vs 48V.
What does the EZGO RXV Gen 1 / Gen 2 note mean?
It applies to ECO Battery’s replacement kits for EZGO RXV ELiTE carts that came with factory Samsung lithium. ECO notes that Gen 1 carts use a ‘Skinny’ battery (best fits 2017-2021 battery trays) and Gen 2 carts a ‘Thru-Hole’ battery (best fits 2022+ trays). For lead-acid RXVs, other brands split kits by plastic or metal tray instead. Check the notes on each RXV listing, or send us a photo of your tray.
Is the fitment information on your site from the manufacturers?
Yes. We list a battery for a cart only when its manufacturer lists that cart, and show model years only where the manufacturer gives them. The Fitment Guide collects all of it in one searchable table.
Can I add more lithium batteries later for more range?
Only with batteries designed for it. Allied’s Drop-in-Ready batteries connect in parallel so you can add modules for range (with Allied’s required disconnect switch). Most other golf cart kits are a single battery sized for the cart, so choose the amp-hours you need up front.
Do lithium golf cart batteries work in cold weather?
They work, but LiFePO4 shouldn’t be charged below freezing unless the battery has a heater or low-temperature protection. Bedrock specifies charging between 32°F and 131°F and offers heated batteries; Vatrer and some Dakota models include low-temperature protection or heating. Check the product page.
What size lithium battery does my motorcycle or ATV need?
Match the case size printed on your current battery (for example YTX12-BS or YTX14). Each powersports listing shows its case size and the sizes it replaces. See the powersports battery guide.
Can I use my old charger on a lithium powersports or trolling motor battery?
Only if it is lithium-compatible. Some lead-acid chargers have a desulfation or equalize mode that can damage lithium. Dakota Lithium’s 12V and 24V lithium chargers are in our powersports and marine chargers.
How do I wire lithium batteries for a 24V or 36V trolling motor?
Use one 24V or 36V lithium battery, or two (24V) or three (36V) identical 12V batteries wired in series. Our Dakota series sets bundle matched batteries. See the trolling motor battery guide.
Are there install videos for my kit?
Many brands publish official install videos, and we show them on the matching brand and product pages: Bedrock (Club Car DS and Precedent, EZGO TXT), Allied (ICON, Yamaha Drive, pre-wired solenoid), ECO (Club Car DS, Precedent/Onward/Tempo, EZGO TXT, Yamaha Drive) and BOLT (Club Car DS and Precedent, EZGO TXT, Yamaha).
