Lithium lawn mower batteries

Most riding mowers and zero-turns use a small 12V starting battery, often a Group U1 size. Lithium replacements are much lighter, hold a charge over the winter far better than lead-acid and don't leak. Match the battery's size and terminal position to your mower's tray (some Ionic models are listed for specific mower battery spaces), and use a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer.

Choosing Lawn Mower Lithium Batteries

  • Match your cart's voltage: six 6V batteries = 36V; eight 6V, six 8V or four 12V batteries = 48V.
  • More amp-hours (Ah) means more range. Lifted carts, 4- and 6-seaters and hilly routes need more.
  • Lithium needs a lithium charger. Most conversions also need a 12V converter for lights and accessories.
