How to Make Golf Cart Batteries Last Longer

Finish the charge, keep flooded batteries watered, and do not mix old and new batteries in one pack. Match the cart by make, model, year, and voltage before…

Allied Lithium 48V 105Ah golf cart battery

· Battery tips

Owners get more years from the same battery when the pack is charged fully, kept cool, and not asked to prop up a dead neighbor. The chemistry decides the ceiling. Habit decides whether you reach it.

Lead-acid habits that matter

  • Plug in after you drive. A pack left at half charge sulfates, and sulfate is permanent capacity you do not get back.
  • Water flooded batteries after the charge, with distilled water, just over the plates.
  • Keep terminals clean and tight. A hot post is wasted energy and a burned cable.
  • Replace the set together. One new battery in an old string dies young.
  • Park in the shade when you can. Heat is the other thing that shortens a flooded pack in the South.

Lithium habits that matter

Use the lithium charger, take the lead-acid charger out of the cart, and do not charge below freezing unless the battery is heated. You do not need to water it, and you do not need to run it flat. Partial charges are fine.

There is a longer comparison of cycle life and weight on lead-acid vs lithium. Warranty length by brand is on the warranty page. When the pack is done, the shop is split by voltage so the next set matches the cart you already have.
