Which battery fits a Club Car Onward

Club Car Onward: confirm voltage, the year band, and the tray before you order a kit or a lead-acid set. The fitment guide names the product.

Interstate 12V GC12 deep-cycle golf cart battery

· Battery tips

This is the buying note for a Club Car Onward (the Onward body that followed the Precedent). Onward cars show up as neighborhood cars in cart-path towns. They do more daily miles than a course cart, so the amp-hour size has to cover the day, not just 18 holes. The fitment guide is the current match. An article can explain the cart. It cannot outrank a kit title that names a different tray.

Voltage comes before brand

Confirm 48 volts on the labels. Do not inherit the voltage from a Precedent you used to own.

Series math is the whole voltage. Six 6-volt batteries are 36 volts. Six 8-volt batteries are 48 volts. Eight 6-volt batteries are 48 volts. Four 12-volt deep-cycle batteries are 48 volts. A 72-volt cart is a different system. Do not put a 48-volt kit in it and do not put a 72-volt kit in a 48-volt cart. Write the count down. Take a photo of one label that shows the volts. That photo is worth more than the badge on the nose of a Club Car Onward.

A Club Car Onward still on lead-acid is usually four 12-volt deep-cycle batteries in series, which is a 48V cart. After a full charge and a few hours of rest, one healthy 12-volt battery sits near 12.6 volts. The whole string sits near 50 volts. A battery that sits a full volt under the others is the weak one. Replace the set. One new battery in a tired string does the work for the old ones and dies early. Each flooded or AGM battery in that set adds an $18 core charge at checkout. A set of four adds $18 times four. The core is refunded when we receive the old lead-acid batteries. Lithium batteries, chargers, and parts do not get a core charge. The core applies on a shipped order. It is waived on a local delivery.

The tray and the bracket

Onward cars often accept the same battery hardware as a 2009-and-later Precedent. Often is not always. The fitment guide is the list. Do not assume a DS bracket, and do not assume the 2004-2008 PR04 bracket.

Brackets are the part that makes a kit a kit. The battery case can look similar across carts while the hold-down does not. On a Club Car Onward, Buying a Tempo or Precedent kit from a photo of the body without checking the year and the product title. If the holes do not line up, stop. Do not slot the tray with a drill to make the wrong kit fit. Send a photo of the tray.

How to confirm the Club Car Onward before you pay

Use the fitment guide with the make, the model, the year, and the voltage. If the model changed by year and you leave the year blank, the guide should say so instead of guessing. The Onward body that followed the Precedent is the year story. If your car sits on a year line, trust the guide’s bands.

You want one kit, not a page of maybes. The fields that get you there are make, model, year, and voltage. A 12-volt converter is a separate line for almost every lithium swap. Bedrock kits do not include it. A 36-volt cart uses converter SKU BB-CVT-0936. A 48-volt or 72-volt cart uses SKU BB-CVT-0948. Do not add a converter to an order that is already the converter.

A Bedrock, ECO, BOLT, EPOCH, or other Onward kit is only right if the product page names the Onward. A Precedent title is not an Onward title.

A worked check on this cart

Onward cars show up as neighborhood cars in cart-path towns. They do more daily miles than a course cart, so the amp-hour size has to cover the day, not just 18 holes. Charge the car, unplug it, and let it rest. Then measure. If it is still a lead string, measure each battery and the pack. A 12-volt that rests a full volt low is the one to condemn, and you still replace the set. If it is already lithium, use the kit meter. Do not declare the pack dead because a lead-acid chart does not match it.

What to send so we do not guess

  • Make and model: Club Car Onward.
  • Year, and which side of any year split the car is on.
  • A photo of one battery label and a photo of the tray.
  • The voltage you counted, not the voltage you hope it is.
  • Whether the car was factory lithium (this matters most on an RXV ELiTE, and it is a fair question on any late model).

Installed, watered, or charged batteries are a final sale except for damage, the wrong item, or a warranty claim. If you are unsure of the Club Car Onward tray, ask before you install. Change-of-mind returns are 30 days with no restocking fee, and you pay that freight. If we shipped the wrong part, or it arrives damaged, tell us within 2 days and the return freight is ours. Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days of inspection.

A Club Car Onward order is ready when the year, the counted voltage, and a tray photo agree with one kit title. Until those three agree, leave the kit in the catalog. Do not assume a DS bracket, and do not assume the 2004-2008 PR04 bracket. Send the set through the contact page if the fitment guide’s year bands do not describe the car in front of you.

Parts and pages that match this

The price for Club Car Onward is the price on the product page, not a number in this article. Lithium golf cart kits from every brand we sell ship free to the lower 48 by curbside truck freight. Parts, chargers and small batteries ship free on orders of $150 or more, or $14.95 below that. Interstate lead-acid batteries ship on a freight quote: we call you with the price before we charge shipping. We ship Club Car Onward. We do not list a storefront address. Local delivery is only the area named on the shipping page. A city page on this site is not a statement that a driver covers that city.
