A lithium golf cart battery charges on a lithium profile. The charger that ran your old lead-acid pack is not that profile. Makers such as Bedrock and Allied ship a matched charger in the kit for that reason, and they warn that a lead-acid charger can damage the battery.
The habit that works
Plug into the charge port that came with the kit, not into a leftover receptacle wired for the old charger. Let the charge finish. Lithium does not need a weekly equalize, and it does not want to sit on a charger that never drops to standby. You can charge after a short ride. You do not have to run the pack flat first.
What to take out of the cart
Remove the old lead-acid charger from the circuit when you install the kit. Two chargers on one pack is how a new lithium battery gets a lead-acid profile by accident. If the cart has an onboard computer that expects the factory charger, ask us about an OBC bypass before you order. Club Car carts are the usual case.
Cold charging is the other limit. Below freezing, use a heated battery or wait until the pack is above the temperature in the manual. The conversion guides walk through the rest of the install, and the fitment guide matches the kit to the cart.
