A lead-acid golf cart battery is mostly lead, and that lead is recycled into new batteries. The core charge on your order is the deposit that pays for getting the old battery into that loop.
What is charged
Each flooded or AGM battery adds an $18 core charge at checkout. Order a set of six and the core line is six times $18. Order a set of eight and it is eight times $18. Lithium batteries, chargers, harnesses, and parts do not get a core charge.
Getting the deposit back
The core charge is refunded when we receive the old lead-acid battery. Contact us before you ship one. The battery needs to be upright, with the caps on, and not cracked or leaking. A battery that cannot be handled safely cannot be taken as a core.
Do not throw a golf cart battery in the trash. Retailers and recyclers take them because the lead has value. Our refund and returns policy is the short version of the same rule, and contact is where a core return starts.
