Which battery fits a Evolution

Evolution: confirm voltage, the year band, and the tray before you order a kit or a lead-acid set. The fitment guide names the product. See the product page.

Bedrock 48V 105Ah lithium golf cart battery

· Battery tips

This is the buying note for a Evolution (Evolution electric carts, including models sold as street-legal LSVs and models that are not). Evolution owners often use the cart for errands. Range is a day’s driving, not a loop back to a clubhouse charger at the turn. The fitment guide is the current match. An article can explain the cart. It cannot outrank a kit title that names a different tray.

Voltage comes before brand

Read the voltage on the existing pack or the controller. Evolution models are not all one voltage.

Series math is the whole voltage. Six 6-volt batteries are 36 volts. Six 8-volt batteries are 48 volts. Eight 6-volt batteries are 48 volts. Four 12-volt deep-cycle batteries are 48 volts. A 72-volt cart is a different system. Do not put a 48-volt kit in it and do not put a 72-volt kit in a 48-volt cart. Write the count down. Take a photo of one label that shows the volts. That photo is worth more than the badge on the nose of a Evolution.

A Evolution still on lead-acid is usually eight 6-volt batteries in series, which is a 48V cart. After a full charge and a few hours of rest, one healthy 6-volt battery sits near 6.3 volts. The whole string sits near 50 volts. A battery that sits a full volt under the others is the weak one. Replace the set. One new battery in a tired string does the work for the old ones and dies early. Each flooded or AGM battery in that set adds an $18 core charge at checkout. A set of eight adds $18 times eight. The core is refunded when we receive the old lead-acid batteries. Lithium batteries, chargers, and parts do not get a core charge. The core applies on a shipped order and on a local delivery.

The tray and the bracket

Use a kit whose product page names Evolution. A universal kit is the fallback the fitment guide will show when a named bracket is not the right one. Do not transfer a Club Car or EZGO bracket into an Evolution tray because the batteries are the same voltage.

Brackets are the part that makes a kit a kit. The battery case can look similar across carts while the hold-down does not. On a Evolution, Ordering by the look of the body from a marketplace ad that does not show the battery tray. If the holes do not line up, stop. Do not slot the tray with a drill to make the wrong kit fit. Send a photo of the tray.

How to confirm the Evolution before you pay

Use the fitment guide with the make, the model, the year, and the voltage. If the model changed by year and you leave the year blank, the guide should say so instead of guessing. Evolution electric carts, including models sold as street-legal LSVs and models that are not is the year story. If your car sits on a year line, trust the guide’s bands.

You want one kit, not a page of maybes. The fields that get you there are make, model, year, and voltage. A 12-volt converter is a separate line for almost every lithium swap. Bedrock kits do not include it. A 36-volt cart uses converter SKU BB-CVT-0936. A 48-volt or 72-volt cart uses SKU BB-CVT-0948. Do not add a converter to an order that is already the converter.

Confirm whether you need 48 volts or another voltage, then confirm the 12-volt converter so lights and signals survive the swap.

A worked check on this cart

Evolution owners often use the cart for errands. Range is a day’s driving, not a loop back to a clubhouse charger at the turn. Charge the car, unplug it, and let it rest. Then measure. If it is still a lead string, measure each battery and the pack. A 6-volt that rests a full volt low is the one to condemn, and you still replace the set. If it is already lithium, use the kit meter. Do not declare the pack dead because a lead-acid chart does not match it.

What to send so we do not guess

  • Make and model: Evolution.
  • Year, and which side of any year split the car is on.
  • A photo of one battery label and a photo of the tray.
  • The voltage you counted, not the voltage you hope it is.
  • Whether the car was factory lithium (this matters most on an RXV ELiTE, and it is a fair question on any late model).

Installed, watered, or charged batteries are a final sale except for damage, the wrong item, or a warranty claim. If you are unsure of the Evolution tray, ask before you install. Change-of-mind returns are 30 days with no restocking fee, and you pay that freight. If we shipped the wrong part, or it arrives damaged, tell us within 2 days and the return freight is ours. Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days of inspection.

A Evolution order is ready when the year, the counted voltage, and a tray photo agree with one kit title. Until those three agree, leave the kit in the catalog. Do not transfer a Club Car or EZGO bracket into an Evolution tray because the batteries are the same voltage. Send the set through the contact page if the fitment guide’s year bands do not describe the car in front of you.

Parts and pages that match this

The price for Evolution is the price on the product page, not a number in this article. Bedrock conversion kits ship free. Allied Lithium packages ship free from Allied. That is not a promise that every brand ships free. We ship Evolution. We do not list a storefront address. Local delivery is only the area named on the shipping page. A city page on this site is not a statement that a driver covers that city.
